JOHN DENVER hat als letzten Song der Platte "Poems, Prayers & Promises" einen gesprochenen Text mit dem Song "The Box".

Hier geht es um den in einer Box versiegelten Krieg, den irgendein Blödmann wieder auspackte...., unglaublich aktuell, dieser Text:

Ein schöner Song, der trotz seines einfachen, für manche vielleicht naiven Textes vieles auf den Punkt bringt.

Es bleibt zu befürchten, dass viele der Wünsche und Träume zumindest für unsere Enkel und deren Enkel Wünsche und Träume bleiben werden.

Ein weiteres dramatisches Beispiel dafür ist der kürzliche Gletscherabriss in den Dolomiten, ist das langsame Verschwinden der Eismassen auf der Zugspitze. Wie lange schon wird auf den Klimawandel hingewiesen und wurde dieser verleugnet? Wie lange schon höre ich Politikerworte wie "...wir müssen endlich", und wie lange schon geschieht dennoch - nichts?

Wir kriegen die Erde schon kaputt. Mir kann's egal sein, ...geringe Restlebenszeit. Meine Kinder und Enkel tun mir leid!
