“The Jimi Hendrix Memorial Concerts: 1995 is a live, double CD composed entirely of Jimi Hendrix covers. It is The Hamsters fifth CD release.
The tour the album ultimately derived from was performed as a tribute to Jimi Hendrix as a celebration of 25 years since his death. The band's first album, Electric Hamsterland, also a compilation of Hendrix covers, was released in 1990, 20 years after the death of Hendrix. Es ist immer schwierig über Cover Versionen zu schreiben. Oftmals liegen sie zu nahe am original oder es fehlt handwerklich etwas, um dem zu huldigendem Künstler musikalisch gerecht zu werden. Hier tendiere ich eher zum ersten Punkt, aber trotzdem mag ich das Album sehr. Das was die rockenden Nagetiere hier abliefern ist Annerkennung pur. Das rockt, hat Groove und auch viel Feeling und so lege ich es jedem an’ s Herz, den es nicht stört das Jimi’s Musik leicht verändert zelebriert wird.
Der an diesem Beitrag angefügte Anhang ist entweder nur im eingeloggten Zustand sichtbar oder die Berechtigung Deiner Benutzergruppe ist nicht ausreichend.
